HTP Posts & Signs

I will illustrate and explain with an example how to place Posts and Signs.

Let’s take the No Whistle Post and Raise Plow on this picture:

HINT: Take an above view to see exactly where you want to put the Post and Signs.

In this example, we have a berm placed where we want to put the No Whistle Post.
By Pressing the Select Button, we will be able to Select the Berm.
Let’s Select this Berm.

As you see, the Berm is now transparent.
Click the Place button again.
We can now see the arrow to place the Post.
Place the No Whistle Post.

Right-Click on the mouse to open this Box.
Note on a paper the x, y and z Positions of the Post.
Be carefull with the x position as there can be a minus (-) sign before it.

Click the General (cont.) tab and make this object a Terrain Object.

Don’t Rotate or move the object at this moment.

Press the More button another time to open the Object Selector.
Choose the Raise Plow Sign and Press OK.

Press the Select Button to Select the Berm another time.
Press the Place Button and Place the Raise Plow Sign.

Right Click the mouse Button to open the Properties Box.
Enter the previously noted x, y and z Positions.
Press O.K.

Click the General (cont.) tab and make this object a Terrain Object.
Don’t Rotate or move the object at this moment.

HINT: Move behind the Post and sign to see the position of the sign.

You see that the sign is too hight.
Press the Move Button and lower this sign to have the bolts match the holes in the Post.

This is now O.K. for this one as you can see on this picture.

Now press the Select Button and By pressing the ALT Key, Click on the No Whistle Post.

You will have the two selected.

Now press the Move Button and adjust the position of the Post+Signs now Selected.

Return to an above view.
Press the Rotate Button and rotate the two until they are lining the track ties.
Unselect the objects.

Move to a front view and see the result.

First thing to do: Make a Backup of your route in case of problem.

Let’s begin by clicking the Place button indicated by the red arrow.
Press the More button to open the Object Selector.
Choose the No Whistle Post.
Press OK.
